Message from the Head of School
On Wednesday of this week, we commemorated Israel Independence Day, Yom Ha’Atzmaut, with an outstanding production presented by our sixth-graders. The students put their hearts and souls into two performances that day so that their classmates in all grade levels could rejoice along with them. Family members also were invited. The stage of Zinman Hall was a “sea” of blue and white as performers, proudly wearing Israel’s colors, sang, danced, and celebrated. As the lights dimmed, our talented students outdid themselves as their classmates, friends, teachers, and family watched in awe. What a proud day it was at DKJA…and in Israel. We were fortunate to have many of our students experience the momentum of the day while in Israel on their class trips to the Jewish State. The sixth-graders performing on stage noted this, and expressed eager anticipation at having the opportunity to visit Israel in the upcoming years on their eighth-grade and high school class trips. The message delivered was loud and clear: Jewish living, learning, and academic achievement has never been stronger and more heartfelt! As I write this message, having just greeted our eighth-grade travelers who arrived back on our campus moments ago, I have tears of joy in my eyes! I eagerly anticipate greeting our high school students upon their return to school after their March of the Living and Israel experiences.

Mazel tov to all of our students who performed so spectacularly, and welcome back to those who are home from their trips.
